Default v tec making weird nose

when i bring my car up to v tec my engine makes a weird high pitched noise not sure if its good or bad it dose sound cool tho

i have a 2001 civic si with a d17 and ideas on what it is

sorry its high pitched sounds like i would have a turbo but i don't haha its only when i go over 4000 rpm's i don't know how to explain it more

Check for any leaks in your intake? Holes? Gaps? Based on your description .. that's the only thing I can think of.

you do know your vtec is activated at 2400rpms or so right? so its possible its something totally different. is the car stock or do you have an intake?

i don't have ac and the nose is their the hole time i am over 4000 rpms when i come back down it stops

That's not your VTEC range. VTEC kicks in at around 2700rpms on a D17A2.
