2000 ITR turbo???
Hey for starters i"m not new to the turbo game done many on dsm's and my old civic d16. But with my new ITR from what I know the motor has like a 10.6/1 comp ratio. kind of high for boosting don't you think. I know people do it but I need this motor to last for about another year or 2 until I build a second motor. My goal is around 275-300whp. what are some of your guys opinions? Should I get a lower compression head gasket or what? Just so you know I am for sure going to put arp head studs in and the manifold and all the turbo parts will be quality. Have not decided on tuning method yet. So give your thoughts thanks

With a good tune from a tuner, and some quilty parts you could make it last a few years easy. But I would keep the boost pretty low, Like 6-9 psi.

Its not worth turboing that engine.
Assuming its the original b18c5 that came with the car, the engine is just worth too much and even if money isnt an issue, if you mess it up and put another itr engine in there it will just lower the value of the car. People want everything original when they buy Type R's.
Also think of it like this, a b18c5, b18c1 and b18b can all make ~300whp, its just that the b18b needs more boost but who cares its not like you pay extra to turn up the boost and the engine is worth alot less and easier to find then an ITR engine.

Yeah the engine is a the original b18c5 and it has 73k on it. I would rather go all motor but it would cost twice as much as turboing that engine to build it up to make around 250whp and it would not be very daily drivable. So how knows. guess i will keep my options open. thanks

If you got the money, get a spare block and keep the itr block on the side if you ever want to keep the car stock. It will hold its value better with an R motor obviously.
