It's hard to clear the a/c compressor w/ a 3" bend....although it can be done using tight radius donuts ......i'd try it out but they'r too expensive

Same thing. 9.0 SRP/Eagle rods, just saw my block all done this morning.
here is my SC-50 on the right, the 61 on the left...

And my engine way in the back!

I went with 10.1 C/R. Aiming for a crazy spool up and good midrange. I hope I can still meet my goals with pump gas. My tuner feels confident we can get 300whp, my goal is 350.

its wht they can fit, with an AC set up its almost impossible to fit a 3 inch and still retain AC so theygo 2.5 then flare it out, on the greddy DP a 3 inch pipe would probably make gettin the bols on real hard cuz of the spacing.

That "flare" looks pretty crappy for flow to me...

I like mine MUCH better...

Yes, that's a 2.5" to 3" flare at the flange.

nice DP .....yeah i like the smoother, longer and conical type transition too, but i figured that it was ok since its going from a 2.5" straight up to a 3" piece. Versus going the other way (3" down to 2.5") where you'd really want a smother transition. I kinda like that its a quicker transition too ( about .75" vs 2" for the conical), plus its like 1/2 the price of the cone

Isnt that just for going straight off a the flange though? I think what im going to do is run 2.5" just past the AC compressor and flare it out to 3" the rest of the way. My goal is 400whp-425whp.. think its possible witht his? the AC is not going anywhere in FLorida!!!

Unless someone can make a DP for me...including a new flange, will that clear AC. For Inline Mani and SC34.

nope you can use it just like any of the other flares pictured on the thread, as long as it'll mate up to a 3" tube and 2.5" tube on the other it'll work

i'd say get one from cody, unless you want to ship out your manifold to someone

That thing would be like 2" from the Jimfab's on my car.

Pretty cool DIY starter piece, though.

I got my 2.5" to 3" from B18flip and that **** looks awesome full SS.

But I also never Ryan could do welding. Man you should have told me, well I guess I should've asked.

I need a downpipe for to use on a Cast RevHard manifold. How much would you charge me??? I still have the two pieces that I got from you cause I am short of cash to make my DP and my car is down. Besides I dunno any good place that would make me a SS DP for my CRX.

The shop that I got my original DP from was Miami Muffler. Their work is crappy in my taste.

A friend and I make them, let me know if you need one.

This part was made to weld strait to the turbine discharge flange and allow bolt clearance on 4 bolt turbine housings. I suppose you could use it to adapt to 3" elsewhere in the exhaust system. But I don't really recommend it.
It may not look like the transition flows well, but I tested this one against a smoother transition on a 500HP EVO.......it maked no difference simply put. It is all up to personal preference and that is cool
I chose this over the smoother transition because I can get the bend tighter to clear A/C compressors. It just worked out best for me and I wanted to share it incase someone was looking for something similar.

More on this topic. I know that flaring it right after the Ac comp is the best thing to do in this case, but what if i flared it where the cat is? How much more would this hinder performance?

If i decide to flare by the compressor what pipe will i need to go from the 3" flare? u bend?
