2 1/4 is perfect for that situation. I have an GReddy EVO thats fits 92-00 civics for sale if you are interested, along w/ a high flow cat. PM if interested.

Re: 2.25 enough??? (CzanSOHC)
This is good to know. I'm only planning 6-8psi on my d16y8 and kept getting the generic "you need a 3in. exhaust" answer. Does anyone have a table with what size exhaust you need to produce X amount of hp?

Re: 2.25 enough??? (blufke)
Actually that's not necessarily true. With a larger dia/free-er flowing exhaust you generally lose some lower rpm tq/hp and with proper flow gain some top end hp. Too large exhaust will lose the lower power and not gain anything up top.

Since the down pipe on a Greddy turbo kit is so small the 2 1/4" exhaust should be fine.

2.25 is fine for what you need.
Hell, I run 2.25 and ran 12.7 @110 on my stock LS motor at 11psi. Im interested to see how much power I will make with the new built motor and 20 psi of boost on the same exhaust.
