Default 2.0L B18C Turbo Setup?

What are your thoughts on using a Sleeved B18C1 block bored out to 85mm (2096cc) with a turbo? The car will be setup well in all apects: ignition, fuel, engine management, etc.

Will it be safe to run 12 - 15 psi with that setup and if it will, what C/R (Compression Ratio) do you think is the best option for a daily driver and a weekend racer?

Search function man. this has been covered. 85mm is the largest that you would ever want to use for a bore. if you are building it and you can chose your bore i would say 84 or 84.5 to give some wiggle room if something happens. PSI has little to do with an engine lasting, you could be using a small turbo that takes 12psi to make 200hp. Search and you will find what you are looking for

Instead of saying search, i'll just answer your question real quick. Like he said, if you can choose your bore i would personally do 83mm so you have room to play with if you mess the block up in the future. As long as you have proper management and tuning 12-15psi wont be a problem, and if its your daily driver i'd proabably go with a 9:1 piston.

I appreciate your reply, SpoolnG2! Would a bore of 84mm, with a 9.5:1 C/R and 12 - 15psi, be too extreme to be considered a reliable daily driver?

My girlfriends B20 block was wrecked at 85mm originally. We had to bore out to 85.5mm, so goodbye high boost! 10 psi will be the max the block will see, but hopefully the displacement makes it fun

I'd say 84mm with 9.5:1 and 12-15psi would be perfect. Lets just say it'll be a fun car.

If you don't want to go over 84mm on the bore Crower makes a stroker kit which uses an 84mm piston (your choice of Arias, JE, or CP). Modified pin boss for longer rod, specify compression (9:1 - 14+:1) & bore size (81-84mm+). 84mm piston with 95 mm stroke will give you 2.1 displacement. Here's the link:

I'm running 9.5:1 CR, 17 pounds of boost and I drove my car nearly 600 miles this week, lots of city and freeway ****. Personally, i'd say go with 83-84MM bore, stock crank, 9:1 compression, and boost the **** out of it. You'll make an easy 400 WHP and have more power than you know what to do with.

I was originally going to do this setup but the shitty r/s ratio convinced me to stay with the original crank. If you want to do a 2.0L you can bore your sleeves out to 84mm and go with an LS crank for the extra torque w/o sacrificing too much on the r/s ratio for slightly higher rpm. A T61 t4 turbo can put a VERY big smile on your face....at first.
