When I am making boost I will get to about 9 psi and the intake piping will come off the turbo. It does fine up to that point but as soon as it gets around 9 psi there will be a loud pop. Some have said the wastegate might be stuck open or the intercooler could be stopped up. Has anyone run into something like this or have some ideas?

 

You mean....the piping and/or coupling comes off the compressor? If so, change out the couplings and straps. Check out your local tractor trailer supply store. They have industrial grade silicone "tubing" that you can have cut to use as couplings. I'm sure they have quality straps as well.

being as unsarcastic and serious as i can. by good clamps and bands

if u got a cheap turbo kit u have cheap bands.

get full face or afi bands and t clamp clamps and ur blow off will go away.

bc blowing couplers at 9 pounds isnt very good lol.

 

bead roll your pipes. also make sure your piping is aligned.
