14b in dx need help
Ok I have a 96 hatch dx and have at 14b a D series manifold and a dsm sidemount with B.O.V. Used to have a coupe with Greddy kit turbo on it but it got stolen and still want boost but now money is kinda short. What exactly else would I need to make it possible and would it be worth it?

Re: 14b in dx need help (I LOVE TO SPOON)
You will need to fabricate a downpipe, intercooler piping, new oil lines, new water lines, vacuum hoses, couplers/hose clamps,HF to 14b adapter plate, larger injectors/something to control them with (cheap-fmu/safc, expensive-s300)..

Dont bother with the water its just more lines/places to get a leak.Order a oil line kit from Stealthmode[tunertoys.com carries them] they sell one for the 14B then get a downpipe flange or you might be able to run a stock O2 housing for a DSM depending on clearance etc and if so you will need a flange to match that housing as well as a flex and a flange to bolt up to your exh. From there grab a bunch of mandrel bends and start cutting/mocking them up to fit and if you dont have a welder just get them ready and run down to a exh shop/welding shop and have them welded. You can get adapters for the mani from BMC i think he is still making them

concerning fuel/eng management i would just get a good base map made then go from there, most base maps will beat a fmu or safc anyday hands down yeah know. Theres alot of good companies out there these days offering those services.

Here's one way to go about the waterlines
http://www.puchare.com/tech/cooling/index.html
Again you don't really have to.Plenty of people dont on dsm turbo's and they run/last fine.

The 14b is a water cooled turbo. It's really easy to connect them. True, you don't HAVE to use them, but by that mentality you don't need them on a GT series turbo either...

You can make it externally gated , doing so for a customer right now at the shop.

But he has a HF mani, and the way to make that externally gated is with a pretty big flycutter on a mill or a weldor that has lots of experience welding on cast iron.
What you could do is try looking for a different WG actuator. Many people buy a used turbo with a lower psi WG actuator, then use an external gate.

There is away around welding on the cast to make it externally gated.

Re: (MagnaniEG6)
You should do some reading on HMT on the projects, stickies etc as there is lots of info on using these turbos. They work good for low buck kits on a D16 You can thread the actuator arm to make it adjustable but i would run at least 11psi anyways
