why do you need 114 octane for a 215whp d series? I can believe your 1/4 time, but i don't believe that you made 215whp unless the dyno reads high or something.

maybe he's running some crazy aggressive timing to make all that power?

once you get to mbt adding in timing is not going to get you any gains. MBT is what you should be tuning for anyways so that isn't anything special.

because on say pump 93 he wouldnt be making 215... I assumed he was using pump gas.

a z6 w\ a 14b at 8psi with 114 octance fuel would probably make similar power with a good tune (correct)?

Also he is running leaner then most people (13:1)

i'm not sure what you are trying to say. The d15 was on 114 when he made that power he said. It is absolutely pointless to run race gas considering people have made way more power than 215 on pump. Not to mention 13:1 is lean as **** and probably isn't getting him any extra power. I wouldn't really tune any leaner than 12.5:1 on race gas. Besides its not like he is going to get a good power increase going from 12.0-12.5:1 anyways. Also as far as timing he isn't going to really gain anything from running race gas. On a setup like this i'm pretty sure he will reach mbt before it starts pinging so there is no need for the race gas.

if anything, you can still make better power by staying away from the 114oct. i would richen it up alittle and go straight pump gas

you think 93 pump would yeild similar results....i just wanted the higher octane so i could advance timing a bit....made the torque curve flatter....perhap within the next week or so i can hit the dyno up again(got paid today) and see what she will do on pump...the track was on pump 93...

yeah i would go with pump gas. running lean with alot timing on race gas isnt going to help. theres a guy in town running a setup similar to yours running mid 13's on street tires and on pump gas on low boost too. you can do it

how low boost is he running i thought that with the higher octane i could run more timing which would help my torque curve...which the d15 is torqueless....lol....but then with 93 pump i would have to run less timing....and therefore lose some of my torque correct?

In your case this is more than likely not going to be true. Unless you are making a lot of power you will be able to hit your highest max brake torque without pinging on pump gas so there is no need for you to run the race gas.
