355whp What should I run with slicks
I finally got a chance to dyno my turbo street car today, and make 355whp @ 8000rpm and 212torque@6800rpm. I was just wondering what should i run in the quarter: b16 tranny, 12psi boost, gsr motor, 96 civic hatch full interior, mt 24.5/9/13 inche slicks.
Before i dynoed I ran a best of 12.17 @ 119mph
But i cant get the car to hook and when i shift into second it kicks me out of boost

60's will be mid to high 1.70's. even high 1.70's to low 1.80's will net you under 11.70's no problem. launch @ around 7000-8000.
....and please tell me the 212 torque figure was a misprint.

b16 tranny on a gsr? great for all motor but you need to get a gsr or preferrably an ls tranny so your in boost for longer.........I also agree thats alot of HP the there is something wrong if your only getting 210 for torque (i could maybe understand if it was a b16)

And on this tranny suggestion, care to explain why he would want to stay in a longer geared tranny? As long as everything is equal, and traction is not an issue, a shorter geared tranny will out accelerate a longer geared tranny. A shorter gear is numberically higher, and thus multiplys more torque.
Sorry to pick on you, it's nothing personal, I just can't stand this whole "LS trans is better" stuff.

If you really are in love with the feeling of boost, hell, you can gear it up and accelerate all day long, but most people would rather get to the finish line sooner.

stay in boost longer w ls trans or accelerate quicker with the b16 trans. If traction isnt an issue, obviously the b16 tranny will be quicker.

So did you read that on Super Honda and then come over here thinking you'd give it to someone else as good advice?
Everybody is sick of that "oh but you can stay in boost" longer crap.
Staying in boost longer means you are working on building boost, not staying at full boost, which means that's not what you want.
At least say "I would think this would be better" etc. That's what I do when I don't know for sure when I am throwing ideas out there, rather than saying "this is how it is, etc etc".

Damn I thought my 334/239 had low tq. Depending on your weight I would think you would run from 11.5-11.8 as long as you get a decent 60'.

Re: 355whp What should I run with slicks (hybrid901)
when i made 361 hsp on my stock gsr motor, i pulled around 250+ torque. 212 seemed really low to me.
and keep that b16 tranny.
and keep that b16 tranny.

Vaportrail is right... its not just low, its impossible.
That hondata wide-open throttle shifting will cure the boost drop between gears. I wish I could afford that stuff.

I haven't seen the dyno plot for streetracers car yet but he is my friend and i watched him pull that 12.17.... A few weeks ago he ran it at night and got 11.90 but, PIR is a shitty track so no traction. I'll try to get his dyno plot and timeslips up along with some pics of the car.. Laterz

No way!!!
If your peak torque is 212 lb/ft of torque at 6,800 rpm there is NO WAY you are going to have 355 whp at 8,000 rpm. Even if you were able to hold those 212 lb/ft of torque to 8,000 rpm your car would still have 323 whp. That's 32 whp lower than what you claim.
Like some people mention before you need 233 lb/ft of torque to have 355 whp at 8,000 rpm. Torque X RPM /5252 = HP so 233 X 8,000 /5252 = 355 whp. Maybe someone on the dyno altered the number or something like that. Of course some people know what going on.
