12.5:1 B16, Turboable?
Im have a turbo b18c I will be putting on the dyno soon, it has 11:1 compression. I have searched for info on high compression turbo hondas, but havent found much good info; mainly people talking about turboing stock ITR's and s2k's. The recurring theme seems to be E85 is a great option, so thats what I will run. Concerned with the consistancy of the E85 blend, I purchased a tester from Summit, its pretty easy to use. I'd never pump E85 directly into my car before testing it though. I guess we will see what happens
A friend of mine makes 430whp with 11.5 compression on like 15psi with stock sleeves. Hes running e85 with 1200cc injectors. Hasnt had any problems. Id say leave it like it is, get a good tune on e85. And youll reach your power goals no problem.
I make 500hp on 84mm GSR 9:1 compression with 25psi from a GT3076R using E85. I spun a rod bearing at the end of the season and now Im debating if I should increase the compression or leave it alone. Its nice to have the extra safety margin but Im thinking I could be making a good amount of more power and better spool.
Yeah, I'm not too concerned about making top end because this will just be a DD, aiming for 300-350hp.
I figured if I keep the compression around 11.5 and use a log style manifold with my size turbo..I should practically spool at idle hahaha, perfect street car.
I have been talking to PURE tuning in Toledo which is about an hour away and think I'll have them be doing the tuning..e85 is a bitch.
I'm just getting the cash together now..****, the wait is killing me lol.
