Default 10 sec daily driving Integ.....

Next year i will be coming out with a new motor going for 10's . Ls of course but this time some nice sleeves. The motor will be pushed to its limit pushing about 20psi. On top of that i might shot a 75 shot direct port. The list of parts, prices, and the new set up is complete. I am looking for feed back on a stand alone system anyone can suggest. I was looking at PMS, or the new aem program. Any info would be gladly appreciated.

Thanks

With all the $$$ invested into your ride, why aren't you guys getting all the safety requirements done? A rollcage costs what?....$600? Your turbos probably cost more. Then the harnesses, helmet, fire jacket. Not more than $300 total.

Just wondering that's all. I would hate for you guys to get banned from every track this side of the Mississippi!

*Just paint your car a diff color and run it next year, they won't notice!*

spending money on a roll cage, and all that stuff isnt the problem. I still use this car on the street. I still go to shoperite every once in a while to buy milk. Also when a cop pulls you over he will see all the crazy sh*t in your car. Its better to keep it simple. Less attention, and nothing to worry about.

THanks Guys and god luck.

Terry,

I had to laugh for a minute there. I just called Atco and tried to talk to Joe Jr...I guess he is the general manager at Atco. I left a message, hopefully I can convince him that I can come back with a roll cage.

Im putting (actually my friend is welding it in) on wed. It's a roll cage from Competition Eng, and its an 8 point. It also weighs a ton. So im putting in 4 pt. to save some weight, and I don't think it's necessary to run 8pt just to run 11's (the main hoop and the two that goes to the back).

If he calls me back, I will call him tom if he does not, I will ask him about Terry, to see if he can get unbanned (haha...is that a word).

If all goes well, including weather, it should be a fun on sat. Especially Terry's car is running well with minimal problems.

Geoff,

I told you a got a fire jacket for you, I can still get one. Dave D. has two. One for him and the other for Jess. I will call you on wed. to let you know what happened.

To be legal to run 11's you need at least a 5 point. The main hoop, the two going to the back and at least the drivers side door bar. Most people run both drivers and passenger side door bars.

I would check with whoever you bought the cage from. They should offer a "Swing Out" kit, which basically makes the door bars removable. I know Chris Alstons makes a nice kit.

actually, NHRA requires a 6point bar for cars 9.99 or slower and an 8 point bar or cage for anything faster.

The car could of went 10's this year, but every time u go to the track u rather run safer than fast and blowing **** up.
As for the prelude guy, wtf are u talking about? People with cages, jackets, and harnesses that run 15's look like a bunch of fools.
First u run the time then u get safety. And most people wont run 10's in a fwd hondas in street trim.

I'm probably going to throw one of those bullshit bolt in Autopower 4 point roll bar things in. From what I remember, the track only required a roll bar for 11.0 to 11.99. I'm sure they'll be alright with it as long as they see something in the car.

Paul, I hope U can butter this Joe Jr. guy up and get him to let us run. I'm gonna try to boost high and hit 10's this year (wishful thinking) I still have to try to rob that fire jacket from Dave, and I'm going to get a 5 point harness this week.

I guess we'll wait to see what happens.

I hope having the rollbar in the Civic won't slow it down too much.

Default Update....(Atco, NJ)

Joe Jr., the track official from Atco, called me back this moring. After speaking with him, I was allowed to go back after the tech checks out my roll bars on Sat. and check other safety equipment.

Then he asked about Terry, I told him that he got a roll cage now, but he (Joe) still insisted that he was not allowed to come back because of the mishap with the anti-freeze on the track.

I called Terry after I spoke to Joe Jr., and Terry called him right away. 15 min later Terry called me back and he said that he was allowed to go back also.

It's gonna be a fun day at Atco on Saturday (weather permitting).
Me, Terry, Geoff, and Gary (ecko) are going to go to Atco and go at it (don't know if Gary is going to run, but he's gonna be there). Of course Im the slowest guy of the group, but Im there to see them go at it.

Paul, your car isn't slower by much. You're pulling close to my mph in a heavier car. You probably have the most reliable car out of all of us

We did some tests on my Civic today, and it looks like I'm having problems. Did a leakdown test, and it bubbled coolant in cylinders 1, 2 and 3. We torqured the head down to 70 ft/lbs (up from 65), then said f*ck it and torqued it down to 75 ft/lbs. Did another leakdown test, and it was fine for all 4 cylinders. Psyched as hell, I went out and boosted on the highway for a few minutes and came back. Coolant overflow bottle was full again. Not good. Looks like either the block is warped or the head is lifting. If the block was warped, it shouldn't seal when we torqued it to 75. I'm thinking that it's the head lifting, but I can't see how a head can lift off 75 ft/lbs of torque on the head bolts. Any ideas?? If not, I'm going to swap blocks before Saturday and go from there (really don't wanna do it).

Incog: what kind of head bolts are you using? If they are stock it'll lift. Get some ARP head studs TQ them to spec, I know the ARP's dont stretch... you'll blow some **** up before you lift the head with these.

I run ARP head studs on my setup, and the head still seems to lift.
We had them torqued at 65ft/lbs and they got a little loose.
Going to try a different block with new ARP head studs. Hopefully everythign will work out.
