Default 02 Sensor cause excessive smoke?

Im not running an 02 sensor for the time being. Question is can this cause excessive smoke out the exhaust? I dont have a 02 bung on my downpipe so thats the reason...

Yes of course. So not having an 02 can cause huge amount of smoke?

yeah, and put the ECU in limp mode...which dumps fuel and causes black smoke.

No, huge amounts of smoke will be caused from burning oil, coolant or running rich, but I doubt your running that rich. From time to time we have had cars in here with no 02 sensors, throwing that code, and no it doesn't cause them to smoke.

Like I said, we run cars every now and then with 02 sensors when we move them around and fabrication isn't done on the downpipe.
