0-50 or 5w30 Engine Oil
Hey guys I put about 2000 miles on my new built motor t3/t04e 57 trim 454whp. I plan on changing my oil this weekend I want to switch from conventional to a synthedic. Is 2000 miles to soon ? Also I want to use Eneos Oil. Should I stick with 5w30 i've been useing or should I use the 0-50 that someone recomended to me. Dose anyone have any expereinces with 0-50 motor oil. I live in CT and it's oblivously not cold rite now so i wanted to use 10w30 but Eneos dosent make one If i plan on staying with 5w30 is that ok.
Thanks guys
Thanks guys
Well eneos dose have a full synethedic in 5w30 And i deff plan on useing eneos oil I just dont know if i wasnt to use 5w30 or 0-50 i haven't herd anything on the 0-50 before. How it works weather or not people like it. This is a street car BTW.
I've used it on my last motor is it ran great. My friend did a back to back dyno with 2 different oils (1 regular dino oil and 1 0w50 eneos syn oil) and it actually made 10 more ft lb.s of torque. Its a good oil but its damn expensive at $9-10 a quart. I actually use the 0w50 in my street bike and it runs so much smoother. I'm going to run it on my 600whp civic when the next oil change is due.
If this is a street car, 5w30 is more than fine. Many race cars use the Euenos oil in situations where there isn't a lot of abuse on the motor. Contrary to popular belief, more abuse on the engine occurs on a car that deals w/ more stop & go then even some race cars.
I havent seen 0W50 oil as of yet, but even 5W-50 is horrible, its loaded with plastic, that cause coking. They have to use alot of polymer chains to get a viscosity range that wide.
