Can you run closed loop with e85? Or will the stock o2 go nuts not being able to recognize it?

I think as long as you have bigger injectors and your fuel maps are adjusted close via aftermarket engine management or a reflash, the stock o2 will still work. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the stock narrowband strives for a lambda value of 1, which would be stoich for virtually any fuel you're using.

Ok, I'm on rc 550 injectors and tuned on the s300. All my a/f ratios are spot on, but being in open loop it's fluctuates slightly form time to time. Mostly the a/f at idle fluctuates being in open loops

My car will be sitting for about 2-3 weeks. It has about half tank of E85 right now. Will I be fine just letting the car idle for a few minutes? Is there anything I need to do to make sure no moisture enters or any other issues I could have? I read a few people are using Sta-Bil for Ethanol or Lucas brand, anyone recommend that?

Wanting to run e85 with a f22b2 turbo looking for 350-400 whp. Looking for advice on my fuel system. Right now I'm think 255 walbo stock fuel lines. Wondering if my stock fuel rail will be ok? Or do I need to get an after market one? If so, which one would you suggest and what fuel filters? Also will I need a return line? I have been searching but can't find the answer. Thanks.

What kinda of performance or lack there of would e85 give you on a stock motor. Because of the slower burn rate would you lose power?

Walbro 400 and 1000's or better will get you there with some head room.

Something to add you need to do... you HAVE to change from the stock fuel filter. You need to go to a stainless element or e85 compatible synthetic element filter. The stock filter media will break down.

Wow that is surprising. I know some have run them supposedly without issues in other applications but never wanted to risk it personally after a good friend had a bad experience.

It was a stock type filter that had break down in what was only a few months. The glue was releasing, all the pleated media inside was wadding up obviously, and the injectors had some nasty goo in them. Fortunately he caught it quick so it did not do any damage (was misfiring like crazy from clogged injector) but the injectors had to be cleaned of course and the lines flushed/ blown out after the filter just to be sure no residue crap in them.

It was right after he changed from gas to e85. He went to a ss element filter and it was fine since then.

ETA: They do make a fiberglass or synthetic blend material filters that are e85 compatible for those that want less micron filter than the 25 micron magnafuel or 40 micron aeromotive ss elements (smallest ss elements I know of).

I almost dont want to change it because its working fine. I have a stock replacment filter that I intended to use but If I need stainless then I'll have to look into it.

Is it an OEM Honda or a stock replacement?

Would be interesting to see it cut open and what you find if anything, if/ when you change.

I would imagine as more ethanol is being put in even standard pump gas in recent history, all fuel filter manufacturers are going to have to consider changes (if they have not been changed already) to make all filters ethanol compatible.

i switched to e85 on my oem internal b20vtec allmotor setup. i ran the e85 for about a week in the old filter then bought a oem honda filter. replaced it and i've been good to go for the past year and a half with no problems. i was using obd2 jdm f20b 310cc injectors when i first switched to e85, i maxxed them out but the afr's were comfortable and the injectors werent failing so i ran them until i could buy another set of injectors. i bought a set of osidetiger 660cc injectors. pulled the f20b injectors out, inspected and they were perfect and clean. put in the osidetiger 660cc injectors, got a retune and good to go. then i bought a set of id2000's(getting ready for boost), pulled out the 660cc's and they were perfect and clean. put in the id2000's and a retune. all of this on a oem honda fuel filter. i will be putting in a e85 compatible fuel filter, when i pull the oem honda fuel filter i will cut it open and take pics and post them in this thread.

Definately in to see what people find when they cut them open, having seen one coming apart from ethanol it would be interesting to see if others have similar or not.

Finally pulled out my oem honda fuel filter, which has about a year and a half to two years of e85 gone through it. I pulled it out cause i replaced it with a -6 e85 filter. I ended up cutting the oem filter open and this is what i found.

I ended up buying a 40 micron e85 -6 fuel filter and a female female -6 union from siliconeintakes.com and a non-flare oem line to -6 male compression fitting from b&r fittings. Super easy to do, quick, and not that expensive.
