Re: ***********Boost and OEM Ignition System************** (Screamer)
I run stock Ignition on my b18c right now. I'm only at 330whp right now but i've seen some cars around 500whp on stock Ignition.

Most people will say that you should replace around 300hp. I would definetly get rid of the **** oem stuff, nothing but problems. I just replaced my coil and ignitor with an MSD 6a and blaster ss.

Don't you still use your ignitor with that? I still have mine with the MSD 6BTM and SS Coil.

What do you guys mean, in regards to the stock ignitor. I had a digital 6 with coil blaster 2 before without turbo, just on my N/A setup and it kept burning my ignitors. I mean in a year and 1/2 of driving I burned 7 ignitors. Just crazy problems so I decided to get rid of the MSD all together. Now I am running the stock distributor and I have no problems.

Re: ***********Boost and OEM Ignition System************** (Screamer)
shouldn't it be by how much boost you're going to run?
Not by how much hp
A motor can make 250hp @ 1 bar, but with headwork and pistons it could probably make the same hp on less boost.

What do you mean, can you comment on this??? Why would you take out the ignitor and what would be the effect???
Thanks,

Yes, I should have probably state power not boost. I guess that is what you meant.

Basically the ignitor just tells the coil in a wasted spark configuration when to fire, and also controls tach output. Thats essentially what the MSD does, but at a higher voltage rate/output. Why wouldnt you replace the stock ICM with a slightly more expensive higher performance piece of equipment. Kind of like when you need a clutch replaced in your car.....I know your not looking for an OEM replacement and I know your willing to spend the extra cash for a better performing part---same thing applies here in my opinion.

Thank you for your comment, but I am not sure as to the effect of the ignitor on the ignition system as well as to how does the MSD replace the ignitor. Can you please comment on this a bit more. Also what MSD setup would be required to get rid of the ignitor???
Thanks for all the help,
Rafal
