Default when is engine management needed?

Hello, i would like to know if i would need to chip/piggyback/replace... my ecu. I am looking to swap a head from a z6 to my 1.5 block, y8 head gasket and intake mani and at some point i may cam it. so to sum it all up I would like to know that when im done at the end of the day i dont have a POS.

You'll need to change ECUs or have yours converted to be able to activate VTEC.

yes im aware of the p28, but is the change in displacement and the different intake mani going to be significant enough to need further tuning?
