Default Vtec pressure switch bypass on obd2a how to??

Hi there! I have a honda civic 97 with ph16a vtec engine, but I think my vtec doesn't engage even beyond 5500 rpm. I've done some research about vtec problems and some of the fix I read was about the vtec pressure switch bypass, like connecting a4 and d6 in obd1 ecu's. In my case I have a obd 2a ecu, and I learned that it has different ecu pinning (a8 for vtec solenoid and c15 for vtec pressure switch, in my case c15 is empty) I have a solenoid valve without a pressure switch, but a bolt screwed in place of the pressure switch. Should I get a new pressure switch and wire it to the empty c15 slot, or should I just leave the bolt as it is and just tap a wire from a8 to c15? Thanks!
