Using an Adaptronic e420c on a turbo b16a1 obd0 engine
I'm trying something new to save me some money. I have to tune my turbo setup with a proper engine management system. The thing is i already have one from my other car wich i want to try using on the CRX.
I asked how to hook this up to the tech guys but the guy asked me this.
Does it?
The ecu is a pretty damn good one only not well know in Hondaland
if someone knows about anyone using it in a b16 engine then please let me know.

Do you know if the factory ECU in your car talks to the OBD system?

An obd0 ecu doesn't "talk" to an obd system.
I don't know why you would use that piggyback module. Convert to obd1 & use something like hondata s300.

ok tnx then i can ditch the standard ecu when installing this one.
by the way this is a standalone ecu not a piggyback it supports vtec and should work great when hooked up properly. I wanna use it because i already ow one, buying a new s300 system and converting to obd1 is much more expensive.

Just read the link to it. Pretty interesting device. Seems like it does just about everything a normal programmable obd1 ecu does...If your already familiar with the software, i say go for it!
Learning the software is the hardest part (to me). Once everything is set up and wired to the engine harness you should be ready to start tuning...Kinda pricey at $990 isnt it?

oh ****.. $990?! sell that crap on ebay and use neptune or ectune or something. Then you won't have a wiring nightmare, and you have an extra $500 in your pocket.
LOL i can't sell it, i have an engine in my shed from my Suzuki Swift GT that has been tuned with this ecu. I'm gonna build this engine into my 4wd swift in the future and then i need it again pusing 150hp on a 1.3 DOHC right now 50hp over stock
This is the ecu I plan to use on my b16 turbo build, I have a friend in the U.K that sells parts for these wiring looms, plugs, sensors etc pretty cheap
www.efi-parts.co.uk He will be able to offer some good advice too. Have you done much research on the v-tec control part?

It looks like it has several switchable inputs and outputs. So if I understand correctly, you can configure the vtec solenoid output to be dependant on TPS or RPM or anything really...
And the dual maps should work for the low and high cam tuning...I think...

My tuner ows this website http://www.adaptronic.nl as i'm quite the NOOB with electrical things i asked him to give me a some answers and fabricate a plug and play wire loom for the obd0 system if it ain't to pricy.
@rs250nut: your mate has a very good price on the e420c ecu in his webstore only 700US
If i decide to go this way i will try to make a good write up about using this ecu maybe people here can benfit from it.
