Are people tuning cars over the internet. lets say guy a. has a car on a dyno with a wb and a tuner is on the guys laptop from anywhere. using a cell phone to communicate with dyno operator. what would be wrong with this picture. Any tuners who do this please expain it.
It is possible to do, however it should be a LAST resort only.
I have done it for several customers with good results.
You simply need the customer/dyno operator to be knowledgeable with basic tuning principals in order to even consider attempting a remote tune.
You would email files back and forth or simply connect to the customer's laptop live via a remote pc software etc.

I need to feel and hear the car...
There are plenty of times when I know I have caught things before something bad has happened just by listening and being able to watch multiple sensors.
Maybe on a stock car that makes piddly for power...

You don't need to email files, when I remote tune I use Skype to communicate, and access their laptop with the Window's Remote Desktop app. I can record a verbal Indemnification through Skype, I take half payment before the tune via PayPal and half after. I agree with Chris that it's better to be there, but the customer is always right

Thanks guys not really sure where i am going with it. Just wanted to know what the pros think.
