Why NOT dyno your car?
I run into some people that just won't dyno their car. I can't understand it, especially when dealing with forced induction - tuning is SO important for both power and reliability. I know that if I didn't have a dyno myself, I'd still pay to have it done very frequently. What's your take on it? If you choose "other" please explain it. Thanks.
without dynoing you car and just seat pants testing you can cause alot of problems if you are not great tuner. The dyno is the only way to be safe especialyl since most good dynos have wideband capability.
Out here in San Diego there are only two dynos that I know of where the operators know anything about Hondas. The first one is AEBS here in Miramar. They know what they're doing but there dyno doesnt have a sniffer, all there cars have datalogging capability and wideband02 on board. The other place is Pann auto in national city. But I like my car to much to take it there. they have a sniffer but no straps. You have to take your bumper off and they stick two long M8's somewhere on the support and they run two straps from there off to the side. You can clearly see the bolts bending and the car lifting up onto the front roller as they're dynoing it. There's no rear strap as well. Not to mention the fact that they dont know what the hell they're doing. I was there once when they were dynoing a car that they built. It had the gayest fuel system I've ever seen. He had an intank pump, 440 cc injectors, Vortech with 12:1 disk, and Field fuel controller and it was boosting like 15 psi only making 320 hp. It's all about running 15 psi with your 12:1 disk with 440 cc injectors and on top of all the an intank pump. That's great.
Stories like that make me very hesitant to go driving all over the place and trust some jackass with my car, and pay dearly for the privilege as well.

UPRD was raided by the DEA and shut down. The building and contents were foreclosed on by the IRS and sold at auction. The owners made a run for the border. The name "UPRD" has since been sold to another company in So Cal who sells parts for both imports and domestics. They do not have a dyno.
