Default Taking the plunge..

After paying for and trading out for tuning on several cars I've decided to try my hand at tuning my new build on my own. I figure it's about time I learn a bit more. Pretty simple GSR turbo setup. AEM 6040, stock motor, RC750s, T57 on 91 octane. (Methanol is also installed for later)
Progress so far.. Everything is together, set TPS, set timing (looking for info on what stock timing is supposed to be, or rather what base timing I should use for a turbo setup to be safe), used the wizard for the injectors, set up the serial gauge (yes, it works correctly) setup the wideband (reads properly), loaded a civic si base map, scaled the fuel map, adjusted idle tables, got the car started and running at 13.4-5 at idle.
I had to scale the fuel about 120% to get the AFRs where their at no but i only scaled the idle range of the map. Now I'm thinking I should have scaled the entire map as any throttle angle over 1.5% will stall it out.
Any input or suggestions? I have to learn more about the timing.

maybe try a entire different map to start with. if you had to add 120% seems like a lot of fuel.

It's a BASE map. Used to get the car started, which it has served it's purpose.

You should fine tune tour injector offset and idle characteristics before you do any alterations to the actual fuel or ignition maps. There should be no need for adding 120% to your actual fuel tables right off the hop. If you used a basemap that is close to your engine specs and the injector formula/multiplier is good to go. There should only be small adjustments required for initial start up and idle adjustment.

Note: 13.4:1 is a wee bit rich for idle. At idle your not under any boost therefore this is an area where you can try and have some fuel economy. No need to waste fuel at idle.

Base timing is usually around 16.5°. There is sometimes an area in your software to lock/synchronize timing between the software and the mechanical timing.

I used the only cal I could find with a B series for the series 2 ems. I used the wizard to scale the injectors so from what I understand it wouldn't be uncommon to have to add that much fuel from a 230cc to a 750cc injector map as the wizard added that much more air.. it made sense to me. Does that sound right? I have the car mechanically timed at 15 degrees and locked there with the software.
