Icon2 Setting base ignition timing?

How do you guys set/sync base ignition timing if its not at the OEM 16* on a B-series for ex? I know the OEM pulley has 3 marks 14/16/18 i believe. But say if i have base set in hondata at 20*, Do i still aim for the same timing marks? Don't think so but thats where your inputs come in lol..TIA

Click online, set timing. Set the base timing value to 16
Shoot the distributor timing to 16 (red middle mark).

What if you were to run it more than 16*? For ex with more wild setups, bigger cams, VTEC killers, etc? 1200+ rpms idle and not the OEM idle thats under 1000 etc?

So say at like 1500 rpms idle on more wild setup, you probably wouldn't want run 16* timing there correct? If its at like 23* at 1500 rpms, how would you set base timing since it idles there and the timing marks on the crank pulley only reference 18* max?

Thanks for the response though.

you set it a 16° with the flashing light and then adjust the idle area in the S300 software

The concept is to sync the timing so you know that 16 = 16 in the smanager software.
Once this is done you can use a base timing of what ever you like in your low cam table for what ever cam you are running etc.

That's the info i was looking for, once its sync'd at 16* then you can set it to whatever. Thanks
