Default aem rev limiter settings, lean

Car is a 450whp ls/vtec on a street tire, so in 2nd it spins bad. I usually let it hit the rev limiter, then feather the throttle to get wheel speed up for 3rd gear. Problem is it never really stops hitting the rev limiter and logs show that it's lean out up to 13:1.

I'm on aem v1 1.11 and my current setting are fuel and ignition cut at 8500, retard limit rev 10,000 and its a full soft cut (1).

Any suggestions on how to keep the a/f's down when it's on the rev limiter?

Went out again, left everything the same except lowered ignition cut to 8200 still had a lean spike at 12.3:1

Then it breaks up/misfires when you hit the next gear. If it were that simple I wouldn't have posted it
