Problem Chipping a JDM P30 ECU. Help!
Right I just got a JDM P30 chipping kit.
I bridge J1, Solder the Three little things in (C49, C50, C92)
Then I Put in the Zif socket. Tested the ECU (yup forgot to solder the 74HC373 chip in) and got a solid CEL light on the Speedo.
So.. I soldered in the 74HC373 chip and tried it again. SOLID check light again!
Left over I have one resistor and am not sure where it goes. I am following this guide..
http://web.archive.org/web/20051224083544/www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/ChippingJDMP30
Because I kept getting a CEL light I removed J1, C49, C50 and C92. Left in the 74HC373 chip as it would have been a PITA to remove. Also pulled the Chip that I burnt!
Once removed, the CEL light is still on. Car is in limp mode!
Any Idea why I kept getting the CEL light when I connected the bits up?
Please help, Its not my ECU!!

No EEPROM installed when I started. Now I remove J1 and the CEL light is still there!
I still need to remove the 74HC373 chip. Would this throw a code?
