poll: 2012 best tuning software
Neptune RTP is 400ish and a better tuning solution in terms of features offered and customer service. I don't see how anyone would want to spend more on an inferior product.
this isn't even counting having a Neptune dealer tune the car using a chip license which is much more affordable.
S300 is what like 500+?

eCtune/Demon on alot of cars i do at the min.
Thinking of starting to use Neptune due to the lack of support at times and also the on-board datalogging on the neptune too!

Doesn't matter what engine you are tuning, if it's an OBD1 ECU that you are using. Any of the pieces of hardware and software mentioned in this thread will work.
been using neptune ever since and im completely happy. it runs with no issues and customer service is spot on.
Neptune RTP for the win. Craig Moates + James = awesome hardware and software. It is really the tuning solution for the MODERN gearhead. If you're new to the honda scene, you'll realize that it's customer service that separates the companies from one another.
well it looks like neptune+demon=perfect tuning solution. customer service is the number one priority when it comes to tuning either a 100$ car or a 30,000$ car. neptune is the tuner solution to have. i have ordered my neptune and demon just a few mins ago from hrtuning and cant wait till next weekend to add my turbo to my rebuilt d16z6 as i will soon after that have some fun around virginia. thanks everyone so far and looking to hear more comments from others as i hope this will help all soon to be tuners here in 2012! cheers everyone!!
Neptune seems to be the tuner of choice around here....but due to the fact that I'm used to hondata's extremely user friendly software I'm going to be switching from
Crome to s300 to retune my GSR with a 6262. Aiming for 450whp for this summer (currently at 350whp) then this winter I plan on pulling the motor to put some darton or golden eagle sleeves and aim for 600+, wish me luck!

I forked out $500 for my hondata s300. It works great, lots of fun to tune with. Some may not like Hondata for whatever reason... But I gotta say im 100% happy with my purchase. Neptune might be slightly cheaper... And is probably just as good. But l feel that Hondata has done way more for the Honda scene than any other engine management company. And this is why I gave them my money. I run it on windows xp.

I'll have to disagree with this one.... PGMFI.org and those pioneers of the early DIY Honda tuning did a hell of a lot more for the Honda scene than Hondata ever thought of doing. Doesn't matter who was first... PGMFI.org got the information out to the masses and that is why Honda tuning is the way it is today.....
Points taken guys. But... Any business which is in the business of making money will crush its competitors at any given opportunity. Sure, it hurts feelings, but thats just the nature of business. Hondata has developed alot of great products for our cars. Its an american company that does true R&D, and continues to provide us with tools that we can use to tune. I dont see many other companies selling tuning products for modern Honda, and I can assume that Hondata will continue to innovate when the next generation of engines become available. Their products do go for a premium, but im willing to support the fact that developing this stuff costs money and the fact that they need to turn a profit. Where is Neptune's K series system? Can PGMFI.org help me with my s2000? Will Crome be able to support my 2013 civic Si? Does any other ECU seller break top speed records or collaborate with other companies to build competitive racecars? Geez. For 2012, Hondata it is.

^i gotta say I agree. We all appreciate the innovation of the DIY developers and the fact that they have all been so helpful for a time with there products. But let's face , the innovation period is over and now that the challenge is gone the Developers are abondoning there products cough CROME cough. Obviously I'm not including Neptune in that statement as there following on H-T alone proves them to be a great tuning choice. But for someone interested in more than b series motors hondata is the obvious choice. I'm coming from owning an 08 si with flashpro, so with my new project a boosted gsr hondata is the way to go because the software is so familiar. The price difference in my mind between s300 and Neptune demon is negligable, what's it end up costing $50-70 more? The way I see it there are only 2 "great" tuning solutions (hondata/Neptune) after trying Crome and deciding it "can get the job done" at best I would never look at another company other than the 2 I listed.
In that case, the price difference between Hondata Flashpro or KPro and a standalone EMS would also be negligible. Therefore, I would choose an AEM, Motech, Haltech or even a Mega Squirt (1/4 the price) EMS.

Well maybe if people would give other companies a chance instead of blindly following the "big" companies, other people would get more money so they too, can do R&D and make better products. Neptune Tunerview and Neptune Multi-Tune comes to mind. Someone has to stand with the not-so-big guy so he can get bigger. It does not happen without support. Think about it the 171! What industry have you ever seen an old monopoly been beneficial to? The innovative products come from the younger company if given a chance.
*Totally off topic * Remember when most of us used (monopoly microsoft) IE back in the day, who would have thought that chrome would blow ie out of the water?
