You can't lean burn the way the VX did without the VX ecu and a wideband. You feasibly could use that basemap along with a wideband and your chioice of tuning software to come up with your version of the routine, but it's not going to work the same as the original.

p07 ecu has a built in wideband controller and it also controls egr valve
just buy a p07 ecu and you will get leanburn

I would be happy with a basemap p07 with 02 delete that still allows lean burn.

In that case why not just buy a P07 and wire the engine harness accordingly???? You need everything else that goes with it though.

It would be much better than trying to run a P07 basemap on a non wideband non P07 chipped ECU.

The car is all stock I have the federal p07 ecu. I just font want to spend 200$ dollars every couple of years for an 02. I want to know if I can have a chipped p28 running a p07 basemap with 02 delete and still achieve lean burn.

The lean burn function is a closed loop operation afaik. It will not work without some sort of feedback to the ecu. If it wasn't there would be no reason for the engine to have an LAF sensor.

But why can't it be done? The last 02 only lasted a little over a year and the dealer wants 550$ just for the part.

wideband O2 sensor regulates the afr.
california banned leanburn so if you can find cali spec p07 then use it

in very simple words NO WIDEBAND=NO LEAN BURN no matter how many times you axe us.

the p07 map from xenocron and pgmfi worked just fine for mine it actually was very very close to 14.7 when i hooked up my innovative wideband.

do you understand what leanburn is? just asking

the closest you will getwithout LAF is to get it dyno tuned

and its not 200 dollars every 2 years. they last alot longer than that if the rest of your engine is well maintained.
NTK 24300 is the part number for an OEM spec LAF sensor

if you try to do it without wideband you will blow it up

Why couldn't it be done with just a map and load input? Base perameters. Someone has done it they just want way to much.$$$ I'm on a budget.

Yes leanburn is a overly lean condition that is almost to the point of piston melting. Extreme gas sipping. The car had a brand new 02 1 year ago before I bought it. It has and is failed I don't know if possibly that is because the cat has been hollowed out not having the heat to help keep it clean and burnt off. The car uses no coolant no oil and vac is rock steady and strong. I get 42-43 mpg as is so the motor is a+. I have herd that the denso sensor is better than the ntk. And yes I know it is supposed to last more than 2 years. Like I said there is a guy selling ecus but they are 350$ for that ild go with Neptune or something along that line. I drive alot of steady 45 50 mph driving perfect for mpgs. So the guy selling the ecus are full of ....

There are emissions laws and also you ate being risky. You have to have double redundancy. Not everyone knows to get off it when you hear a ping or a knock. Every manufacture has a very safe and conservative tune. Every car from 79-80 in north America has an 02 how many of you guys are running an 02 delete code with no problems. Im not saying it can be done I just want to know if it's been tried and if there was success or failure. Or if it's uncharted territory.
