Default Inquiry: Hondata S300 basemap availability for a D16y7 or D16y8

Aloha, does anyone have a basemap for a d16y7 or d16y8 in hondata s300 system ? planning on going hondata but need a basemap to start off with. Been reading that the timing will show different in hondata then from what you set your dizzy too. If someone could help me i would really appreciate it.

If you have not bought your hondata system yet, consider buying the system from a dealer which provides a GOOD basemap pre-uploaded to the system, not just a generic Smanager calibration.

oh okay thanks everyone just ive been reading online and well I see alot of people saying that the timing says one thing on hondata and the timing light says another thing when using a d16y7 or d16y8. I have a d16y7 with greddy turbo kit and 310cc injectors and would like to upgrade to hondata. So if i buy it from xenocron or phearable then I will get a basemap with the computer ?

Yes, phearable.net provides a free basemap customized to your specific setup based off a previous car we have tuned.

Yes & Yes. Keep in mind when using a d16y7 engine, you will need to either disable the iacv or convert to a 2 wire style iacv which requires a y8 style intake manifold/throttle body/throttle cable.

iacv = idle air control valve

Oh okay thank you. I already have the y8 manifold but dont have the 2 wire iacv. so i can just disable it instead of rewiring the iacv ? and also are the timing maps off compared to actually setting the dizzy at 12 degrees ? ive seen some maps where the dizzy is set at 12 degrees but the timing maps idle section is at 21. sorry for all the questions but just trying to find out as much info as possible. thank you for your help and support.

I would suggest wiring up the iacv for the best result.
Concerning the ignition timing, we have tuned plenty of y8 and y7 engines :-)

Oh okay i guess i will wire it up then but the thing is im gonna have to change my intake manifold right cause mine is the automatic one without the 2 wire iacv port or can i just wire it plug it in and hang it on the firewall ? i know ghetto but i know it works without throwing a code. thanks for answering all my questions....Happy Thanksgiving.

There is no point in doing that. You can simply disable the iacv error in the software & drive the car without an iacv. I would personally recommend installing the correct intake manifold and iacv if it is your daily driver with a/c etc.
