hondata ?
would hondata s300 do anything in an ls with header back 2.5 straight pipe exhaust and sk2 intake manifold + intake or would that just be pointless ? dont know much about tuning or ecus so i was just wondering - thanks
S300 is in my opinion, the best programing resource out their for a street car. You have mild mods right now, so it would only mean a mild tune with minimal gains...but, if you plan to continue upgrading your car with cams, gear, intake manifold, compression...any number of things, the system will be the only one you would ever need

This is an upgrade that will ALWAYS be useful for you.
It's not like...say you bought a header when you planned on going turbo later down the road it would be useless...I'd say money well spent compared to other things people dump their money into without taking future goals into consideration. Best of luck...and hit up the local tuners to get more info as they will more than likely be the ones helping you through the process after your purchase.
i'd like to add to what deetz is saying. having a chipped ecu, hondata or not, makes swaps easier imo. instead of hunting down a stock ecu, you can just load a new base map onto your already chipped ecu.
thanks guys totally forgot about this but good info since i got a new 70mm throttle body and password jdm whale ***** intake but im deff gettin hondata after xmas and looking for a good cam but again thanks guy.
Hondata s300 is only going to be useful to you if you have a good basemap pre-uploaded to the system or if you have the car dyno tuned. Otherwise it will be pointless.
If you are on a budget, you may want to consider a chipped obd1 ecu with a good basemap, then later having the car dyno tuned using the eprom chip based ecu.

finally got hondata but im on a base map with the s300 right now and i am goin to get it dyno tuned today. i'll let you guys know what it puts down or if i can get the sheet ill post it up- thanks
well had it was tuned mondayat ***** auto in nh and made 142whp and 122ft lbs of torque and makes the car run and pull alot smoother so im happy with it for now next to the list blackworks tri-y headers and a nice cam after that im just gonna get it retuned and leave it
havnt updated this in a while lol but since getting it tuned i got a new p&p head w/ bc duel valve springs and retainers then spun a few bearings and froze two pistons lol but getting a new block acl race bearings and full refresh then another re-tune with bc stage 1 cams and the p&p hopin to reach close to 160 whp with these mods and a new exhaust without a leak what you guys think
If all that work you have put into it and all your hoping is 160whp, your putting your money in the wrong areas unless your trying to run good power out of a non-vtec motor... You might as well find a GSR or ITR and call it a day... Just my .02 cents...
