I’m looking at buying a 99 ek with a fresh rebuild on a b16 with a gsr block. When it’s started it sounds like it runs rough but the seller assures me it’s because it doesn’t have a fast idle control valve due to the jdm intake. When it’s up to temp it runs like a dream. Should I be concerned, or is it a good purchase?

You didn't mention a price... so there is no way to tell you whether or not it is a good deal. As for the engine build... buyer beware.

Since the engine is suspect... the rest of the car would have to be PERFECT for that kind of $$$.

 

the rest of it is perfect, no rust, lsd trans, full interior, paints great, nice wheels, needs tired but aside from that it’s mint.
