Glowshift WB gauge - obd0-obd1
Hey guys, I have a quick question. I have a glowshift wideband afr gauge. can It use the data log outputs and I was wondering if I can hook them up to the ECU so it can read the AFR's? These are the data log wires.
Green - Provides the positive (+) analog NARROWBAND voltage output signals. 0– 1 volts
Brown - Provides the positive (+) analog WIDEBAND voltage output signals. 0 – 5 volts
Ground - Provides the negative (-) ground reference for both analog NARROWBAND & WIDEBAND voltage output signals
The following are the wire connections for the obd0-obd1 jumper harness that I have available
Blue - P02SHTC - 02 Sensor Heater Control (02BLK Wire)
White - PH02S - 02 Sensor Signal (02 WHT Wire)
Violet - VTS - VTEC Solenoid Signal
Gray - VTM - VTEC Pressure Switch Signal
Green - IAB - Intake Air Bypass Signal
Orange – KS - Knock Sensor Signal
Red or Pink (2) - IGP Power (IAB, 02, BLK Wire)
Black or Brown - (3) -PG Ground - (SCS, VRM, 02 GRN Wire)
Yellow – SCS - Service Check Signal
So the question is. which of the wires would I connect the 3 wires from the data log cable too?
Or would I need to splice the 4 wires coming from the o2 sensor to the available jumper harness wires?
Thanks

Re: Glowshift WB gauge - obd0-obd1
Need more info.
What ECU are you running? What setup are you logging with? The only analog input you listed is the narrowband input. That needs to be modified on the hardware side, and any input will need to be configured in software.
My go to on a P28 or similar is the EGR lift input or the ELD (if I'm not intending to use it for its normal function)
What you have listed is:
Blue - P02SHTC - 02 Sensor Heater Control (02BLK Wire) Output
White - PH02S - 02 Sensor Signal (02 WHT Wire) 3.7V Analog input
Violet - VTS - VTEC Solenoid Signal Switched output
Gray - VTM - VTEC Pressure Switch Signal switched input
Green - IAB - Intake Air Bypass Signal switched output
Orange – KS - Knock Sensor Signal probably not connected, depending on ecu
Red or Pink (2) - IGP Power (IAB, 02, BLK Wire)
Black or Brown - (3) -PG Ground - (SCS, VRM, 02 GRN Wire) Connect the ground wire here
Yellow – SCS - Service Check Signal Switched input

Re: Glowshift WB gauge - obd0-obd1
Thanks for the reply spadam. Basicly the setup is a 91 crx with a zc swap that has been converted to obd1 and the previous owned didn't do it right. Everything I have read says I need a 4 wire O2 sensor. The glow shift wide band o2 is a 4 wire but it goes to hatnes which is 5 wire i believe then to a control box then the the gauge. The box then has output wires which I listed above. The ecu I am running is a chipped p06. No logging software right now. Hopefully that helps.
Again thanks for your help

So you jut need something to make the ecu happy. Just wire in a stock narrowband for now. The wideband can live all by itself as a standalone, or you can figure out a way to defeat/trick the heater circuit on your P06 and run the narrowband output from the gauge to the white wire on your jumper.

Re: Glowshift WB gauge - obd0-obd1
Alright thanks. The stock 02 is long gone and the only o2 sensor I have is the 4 wire that came with the gauge. Also I believe I have read 1 or 2 things that even if I use the gauge wide band output without tricking the heater circuit it would only have issues for 30 seconds or so. Is that correct?
Can I splice into the o2 wires and run then directly to the obd1 jumper harness?
Looks like I will have to do some more research.

The sensor that came with your unit should be a 5 or 6 wire and is not an 02 sensor (it's a lambda sensor), so no you can't just run them straight to your ecu.
You will have a MIL if you run without a heater, unless the error is cancelled on your chip. The ecu will assume that the sensor is no good and will default to open loop.

Re: Glowshift WB gauge - obd0-obd1
Pretty sure it is 4 wire but I will check when I get home this evening. According to thier website they use a Bosch lsu 4.9 wide band o2 sensor. Remembering off the top of my head it is a 4 wire O2 sensor to a 5 wire harness then to the controller box. Then box to gauge, box to power source then box to the 3 wire output. It may just be a lambda sensor. But I will double check to make sure when I get home tonight.

Thanks again for the help spadam. Much appreciated.

You were correct spadam it is a 5 wire., would I need to get a 4 wire O2 sensor and put it in another bung? Then run all 4 wires from the o2 sensor to the coresponding wires on the jumper harness listed above?

Re: Glowshift WB gauge - obd0-obd1
got a 4 wire o2 sensor so I am going to wire it up. o2 sensor wires are black, grey, white, white. Where would those wires connect to the above jumper harness?
I have read black is power, grey is ground and the white wires go to the heater and I may have to swap them if it does not work at first.
Is that correct?
