Re: crome 1.6.0
Oh...that's f#@ked up..... sounds like a reg string issue. Can you uninstall the 1.6 vers. and download vers. 1.5.5, run it with the reg string you had for that version and not do the upgrade?

Re: crome 1.6.0
Ghost, what did you do to get datalogging working? What hardware are you using? I've got my Pro version of 1.6 working fine, just cant get the Hulog to connect now.

Re: crome 1.6.0
Finally got my license and everything is working just fine after the upgrade. The connection to the ECU & datalogging actually works better now. Mo more USB bugs. That could be the new laptop though...lol Only thing that I had to get used to was the swapping around of some of the data displays on the datalogging tab........
ALLMOTOR,
What are your hardware & software settings for the USB connection(s)? Maybe that was reset!

Re: crome 1.6.0
thanks for the post ghostaccord! it will be very useful for the guys with the ostrich/hulog. Perhaps I can try something different with the settings on my Demon setup to use 1.6, as right now it is giving me a time-out error when i try to datalog.

Re: crome 1.6.0
The RTP portion of the settings really doesn't give you much more to choose from other than Moates Devices. For The tuner Comm tab I would assume that you would chose the Crome QD3/Demon settings. If you have the Crome Gold license a faster baud rate can probably be used as well. Make sure that if you make any changes to the baud rate in Crome that you use the same rate in the Com Port settings.
Are you using any other tuning software, eCtune or Neptune? These can take ownership of the demon and not allow any other software to use it. Moates.net has a config utility that you can download for free if this is the case. Even if you are not using other software maybe you should download the Demon & Ostrich reset and give it a try. See if resting the Demon to other (Tuner Pro, Crome, etc) does anything for you.
Edit*
Straight from the Tune with Crome website!

In order to take advantage of this new update, please make sure you have to correct settings in Crome. The following procedure will walk you through the process of setting up Crome to work with the new protocols.
1. Go to the File menu and select 'Settings'
2. Select the 'Tuner Comm' tab
3. Under 'Serial Protocol', select the appropriate Serial Protocol to be used. For normal ROMs using plug-ins, select 'Crome QD2'. For Gold ROMs using separate RTP and datalogging ports, select 'Crome QD3'. For Gold ROMs using Moates Demon, select 'Crome QD3/Demon'.
4. Click 'OK' to save the settings.
5. Upload the current ROM opened to update the changes to the ECU firmware.
6. Test your connection.

Re: crome 1.6.0
wow I guess I will try this next. I am not using my Demon with any other programs. I have Tuner Pro but I am using that with my Moates QuarterHorse when I decide to start messing with my Mustang again.
thanks for the heads up

Re: crome 1.6.0
am using the Dealer version and tried 1.6 for the first time. just tuned a stock n/a motor for three hours and data logging works flawlessly.
tuning hardware details below if it helps any.
4 year old Dell inspiron 6400 Dual Core 1.6. same laptop i use with eCtune, Neptune, Hondata, AEM, KPro.
Windows XP Pro 32 bit, SP2
Moates Ostrich v2
Moates Hulog
Gold ROM with custom MAP/RPM scalars
PLX M300
Under Tuner Comm tab, I set it at Crome QD3 and followed the rest of the instructions shown from CROME's website.

Re: crome 1.6.0
no dice on me getting crome pro 1.6 to work with my demon on a regular 203 bin file. Next time I tune my neighbor's all motor car later this week I will try to see if datalogging with the demon will work with a gold bin (even though I can't save gold bins) just to get more info to post here for anyone who wants it.

Re: crome 1.6.0
I've been using my demon for RTP and logging with crome 1.5.5 for a while now. For some reason I am having a problem getting the demon to datalog with 1.6 though.

Re: crome 1.6.0
rtp cable and window's XP.
followed the directions specifically on crome's site, worked the first time.. also auto detects rtp as well, so its nice not having to hunt for the port.

Re: crome 1.6.0
I'm going to try again next chance I have. Are the directions you followed the same as what was posted earlier in this thread? if not, can you link me? I see no evidence of 1.6.0 on the main tunewithcrome.com site when I look lol.
edit: crap it shows up on the website for me now lol
I'm thinking that I didn't upload the ROM to update some sort of change in the datalogging protocol on the ECU side, and that is why I have a problem.

Re: crome 1.6.0
I've used 1.5.5 and 1.5.4 with the RTP board before this update. I've had no problems, using just "1" cable.
This new version seems to be just coded better to work with the RTP board.
Datalog seems faster, and more on point. And the connection issues you would have with crome before, seem to be fixed to a point.

Re: crome 1.6.0
Been having problems with the demon and Chrome 1.6. RTP works but I cant get the datalogging to work for the life of me. Tried the drivers and everything. Finally I switched to Chrome 1.5.5 and it works. So apparently the Demon datalogging doesnt work in 1.6. Or at least not for me. Anyone else with more input on this situation?

Re: crome 1.6.0
I've got Chrome Pro. On a side note im also having trouble with the Chrome Gold rom. When I try to do live tuning on a Chrome Gold rom in 1.5.5 it crashes after about a min or so. Seems to work in the regular Chrome roms tho. Im impressed with the Demon tho. Its a powerful piece of hardware.
