Got it!

Now if only John would respond to my new laptop reg string request I'd be set.

Not sure yet...... I haven't been able to do anything without my reg string.

Only thing I know is when I tried to open one of my old Crome Gold files. There was a popup window that said I was required to upgrade to a dealer license in order to view it. Not sure it that's because I'm currently stuck using Crome free or not though.

Oh you know they probably have a lot to do with it. Sucks that Chris and the guys over at Xenocron can't help people with old reg strings though....

Noticed this yesterday as well. When I opened Crome a popup came up saying an update was available and asked if I wanted to update. I actually selected NO, as the current version I'm using has been working stable and don't want to deal with the new headaches right now lol. First thing that came to my mind was "WTH? Someone's actually doing something with the software again?" lol

Go to settings and click on the Tuner Comm tab. Outside of that, there's probably some heightened security measures, hopefully the DynoTools works better, and the CromeAu ROM has been updated. With what I'm not sure, but I would assume it's for compatability. It also appears there's been some CromeAu Advanced Tables updates - which is great, cause cold starts are buggy as hell.
...Is Cui actually starting to take us seriously?

Well, i still use crome for customers, but since i've updated i can't do live tuning.. so now i'm in a rush to get a license.

I offer crome as a cheaper solution for people on a budget who just can't afford a ectune or neptune license.

what do you mean you cant do live tuning after the update? i already have a license from crome, and havent updated yet, but i dont want some features to be lost or require another purchase.

I Had a dealer version, unlocked with 1.5.5 and 1.5.4 incase i came across a customer who used the DemonRTP or a ostrich II.

I updated to 1.6 on my desktop and laptop and now i do NOT have live tuning.

.. and this is exactly why I clicked "NO" lol... simply too many problems with Crome, and when I get it working correctly I try not to mess with anything lol

Lemme clear something up..

the new install of the 1.6, has the add-on's, already with the program..

the add-ons work fine, i just tested on my own car, however, the realtime datalog wont work until its unlocked.. AGAIN.. which is pitiful because i had unlocked two versions.

So if I don't need live tuning then I can update with no problems and can still burn maps correct? Or am I going to have to buy some sort of license?

I clicked No, because I don't tune with Crome for my car, I only use it to burn basemaps for people locally.

i can see the plugins there. its just not letting me use them. i burn 10 chips a week for people. i sell basemaps outta the house for locals that dont feel like paying high prices at the local tuner shop. i tried downloading the old version from the tunewithcrome web site but its gives me an error message when i try to open it.

So what you are saying is your LICENSE didnt transfer over with the upgrade?

I'll see if I can check this on my end, I know John told me he was releasing an update to SPEED up datalogging along with a few other tweaks.

There is a file called "register" in the Crome Directory...if you copy/paste that over into your new directory for 1.6 it doesnt give you your PRO/DEALER features?

The license transfers over fine for me. I just pulled up the original email with the reg string in it and copy and pasted it into the box. RTP works fine, just select Moates device from the list if using the Ostrich. But along with ALL Motor I've got no connectivity to the Hulog.
