Default Chipping, socketing, jumping?

http://www.performanceforum.com/wesv...chip/chip.html
This is the link I have been reading about.
He talks about the original rom, and then adding the socket for a secondary rom.
If the red jumper thing can be used, couldn't we also rig up some sort of switch on the dash?
It would sorta be like the CR-Z eco/norm/sport button, but only a norm/sport setting...
If anyone understands what I am saying, ha ha.
So, is this possible? On a P28 ECU?

Yes, this is possible. You can also run a Moates 2Timer to switch between two different tunes on the same chip (with a 64kb chip)

switching between the stock rom (jumper open) and the 'chipped' setting while running probably isn't the best idea. However, if like stated above and you install the Moates 2 timer and load the chip with two somewhat similar maps, you could feasibly switch back and forth with only a slight hiccup.

disable checksum on both the bins you load in the 27sf512 and you can easily switch with the 2 timer while driving. works great for me.
