checking for a working ecu?
I am looking for a used ecu for sale and was wondering if I could just plug up a stock p28 to my h22a to see if it's still working. Will this blow my motor or mess anything up if the ecu is stock and not map for the jdm h22a? I am in the process of buying a stock one this coming monday and I just wanted to know how I can check it to see if it's working properly. Any input would be great thanks.
If you're running in a civic chassis, it should turn over just fine. If you're in a Prelude chassis, switch A6 and A11 if you were running a stock P13 before. I wouldn't run hard on it.
I am currently running the jdm p13 right now. I want to buy the p28 so I can chip and tune later on in the future. I was wondering if I could plug it up without the motor messing up and see if the p28 works. What should I look for on a bad ecu when checking one out?
