Emissions. . . . .
I have a 99 si with a b18b1 swap and an OBDI ecu. Down the road i'd like to build a lsvtec. I'm planning on moving from Indiana to Colorado in the summer. Indiana does not have emissions and Colorado does. The questions i have are:
1.) Can i pass emissions with a swapped engine and an OBDI ecu?
2.) Will having the lsvtec give me any problems with enissions testing?
Any info on emissions testing would be helpful since i've never lived anywhere with it and i'm not sure how it works or what the process is.

i highly doubt ull be able to pass emissions with a lsvtec in any state. i suggest u swap a k20 so u wont have to go through the trouble of drilling oil lines into ur LS. btw k20's in civics are badass lol :D just MO
So it would just be a tuning issue to get it to pass unless the state has an underhood insp? also does it matter that i have an OBDI ecu in an OBDII car? i've heard that if they plug a code reader in it wont pass unless the correct ecu installed. anyone have experience with CO testing?
most states that do testing these days, OBD2 car must mean OBD2 ECU.
It's really dependant on the state, give the DMV in that state a call and ask since you're moving there.
OR wait for someone from Colorado on here to respond.
Logically, the LS/V is going to cause problems since there really isn't an ECU close enough to that setup to get by with... maybe a P73(ITR) if you keep the compression and cams close to ITR specs.
