i have a 95 civic coupe. D16z6, when i take it up to about 6k almost 7k in 3rd or 4th it varies the engine light will turn on... the car will run perfectly fine and as soon as i shut it off completly with key out and start it again the code goes away. so i cant do the paperclip trick. anyone know what it could be or how i can run a cel test with engine on? thanks

You can jump the service connector without shutting the car off.

If the light stays on you got some trouble shooting to figure!
But if it blinks it blinks just count the blinks!

But it could be a bunch of things, like you name any part inside your car and it just might be that one , see what I'm getting at! More info pls

If you are unable to read any codes and the CEL comes on olny while your driving @ 6k-7k rpm.

Does the CEL flash or go solid at those RPMs? If it is flashing/blinking then I would say that it is a misfire issue. Check your ignition and fuel system. Plugs wires, cap and rotor would be the first thing to check.

-Vtec pressure valve. code 22 it was 2 one sec blinks and 2, .5 sec blink. checked wires for omhs and they were in spec and to remind u guys it only happens in 3rd or 4th gear around 6,000- 7,300 rpm so any help would be nice. engine is d16z6 with I/H/E if it happens alot with alot of mods i will name all if needed but other than that I/H/E is fastest explanation. thanks
