As the title says, ecucontrol works great until i hit vtec, at any rpm. I get

Run-time error '8021'
Internal error retrieving device control block for the port.

Ecu Control crashes until i unplug the usb.

PS9, 1 wire vtec
turboedit ...

Disabled vtec and i can record all the way to redline.


Any ideas? I searched and found some people with the same problem but found no solutions.

VTEC is causing interference on the signal lines... which causes the USB device to lose communication... which causes your problem.

If you have a hulog or similar, take it out of the ECU if it's mounted or sitting inside... You can also try a different USB cable... A USB cable with a ferrite bead for noise reduction... Or fixing your grounds in your vehicle.

I think i fixed it.

What happened was the wire to vtec was really close to a spark plug wire, moved it as far away as i could...

Now i can datalog all the way to redline it seems if i let the engine decelerate with the car in gear still. If i just clutch in it still gets the error. Weird.
