That's what I was going to say. That will cause exactly what you were hearing. I'm going to do some reading on that program.

Edit: just looking at the download page really quick, it says that it can do spectral analysis, which means it has some sort of FFT capability. Play around and figure out how to switch over to the frequency domain and it should show you a density plot of some sort with all of the frequencies you are hitting. You may even be able to use that info to apply some filters to clean up your non-knocking frequencies.

Very true. If there were, my engine sim would be on a board and my datalogger would be logging away.

sorry....damn job of mine has me sleeping damn near all day cuz I work 3rd shift......clipping is pretty much where you overrun a threshold of your amplifier which might be caused by the amount of gain your using at the MIC on your PC while recording if your using it in combo with the Fiio amp.....

As Adam was saying, this could very well be the cause of what your hearing and Spectrogram can be useful in logging and filtering the frequencies your seeing however I personally haven't dug into using Spectrogram all that much to see if what I was hearing was or wasn't Det but rather when this noise always occurred in the past, it was under conditions where det was prone to occur so reading my plugs also confirmed it and ultimately this tool while using it to listen in helped me bring det to a stop by lower my HighCam ignition timing, and since Crome has known issues with actual timing being applied over what it should really be by whats shown in the High Cam tables, this lead me to a discovery about the timing that Crome applies in the High Cam and what happens after it reaches a certain row where it multiplies over whats shown...

https://honda-tech.com/engine-manage...aided-3230463/

Anyway, VegasInvasion posted this which gives you a ballpark idea where Det is likely to occur in the sound frequencies your seeing on Spectrogram based on bore diameter that your motor has

Calculating Engine Knock Detonation Frequency

Now if your running an 81mm thru 82mm bore (81.5 ideally like most) than the calculator says you may be seeing knock at the 7-7.1 kHz range.....

And below is a spectrum scan in two different formats that I got when I ran your sound clip from youtube thru Sound Forge which I downloaded directly by means of certain software thats designed to grab streaming youtube like media...

btw....I'm sure it can be done with spectrogram however this was why I was offering sound forge to ya since it can be used to edit the recordings in so many ways such as slowing the playback down or by applying sampling filters to it as a means of bandpass filtering applied post recording rather than by the KS since were using flat response sensors that are basically a wide-band microphone on our motors

How did this work out for you? I have my Bosch doughnut style sensor that I plan on using for my build, and i was looking for a stepper stud to go from the M12 to M8.

Just go and purchase the Toyota part number provided on the first page. It was about $5 each when I bought a few a couple years ago. Somewhat recently I needed a M10x1.25 adapter for the Bosch sensor so I just made one, took all of 15 mins...
