How do I know if i have blown my headgasket or not? Last night, my top hose on my radiator exploded and coolent was spewing out. I replaced the hose and put new coolant but my thermostat is bouncing up and down from H to the MIDDLE to halfway between C and Middle and now its chillin bewteen MIDDLE and H. Help me thanks..

 

Do you have coolant in your reservoir and has coolant ever been pushed into it? You can get a kit to test your headgasket that will check to see if there is a combustion leak.

Have you replaced the thermostat ever or the water pump? Does hot air come out of the heater?

 

Or do a compression and/or leakdown test...
