Default Activating Secondary Maps on eCtune

Hey guys Im just in the process of preparing my car for a tuning appointment and I have a few issues. I am planning on using eCtune and would like to utilize the secondary maps to disable the motor based on a drop in oil pressure and fuel pressure under certain conditions.

- So I need a pressure switch that will send a ground upon falling below a preset psi?
- How would I wire this to the ecu?
- Would I need a relay in this application?

Anyone has a diagram that would show how to wire something like this up. As usual, all input is greatly appreciated.

I havent purchased eCtune yet, but I am planning to take my car to an authorized eCtune dealer. I just want to get it all wired up before my tuning session so all these safeguards can be setup.

well talk to the Dealer/tuner and see what they recommend. I have never thought of doing what you are talking about. Ectune also has good forums, might wanna run it past one of the guys there....

I thought I remembered eCtune having a Fuel Cut section. I'm not 100% that can be set up for oil pressure drops though. I don't have my laptop with me right now to verify the programmable parameters for the fuel cut.

Contact him via his website eCtune.com. He is usually pretty quick to get back to you with an answer.

ectune has 3 analog inputs which can be used if you know the voltages of the oil pressure sending unit. It would be easier to just get a gauge for oil pressure and you can see when the oil pressure drops. Especially if you have one with a warning light. For fuel pressure, im pretty sure there is an input configured for that already but you dont need it to switch to separate maps. Have it limit your load and rpm so you know when it happens.

he is best to get ahold of via email
