Default 92 civic fuel problem

I have a 92 dx civic i have a problem with burning too much fuel but its not running rich. What i mean when i say that is i am only getting around 180 to 200 miles per tank and i should be getting well over that with a stock d15 engine and manual transmission. I jad some wiring issues to work out when i first bought the car. Also note that the 92 dx has a map semspr mounted on the firewall. So i fixed all my wirimg issues and running on the stock p06 i have no check engine light or codes. I swapped the dx throttle body to a ex with the map sensor on the tb. Still no codes. But i am burning alot more fuel than i should be. Any suggestions on what to do about this? Is there a certain map sensor i should run besides the ex that will bolt on to the tb itsel or should i go back to the firewall map? Thanks
