Default head gasket and compression ratio

Hello,
I am assembling a B18c1 block with YCP 81.5 high compression piston.
what compression ratio is the limit for the b-series with the 98 octane fuel?

Is it too high if run with 12.8:1 CR? ( OEM gasket)

Thanks

Depends on the fuel you want to run.

Pump gas is less forgiving to high CR.
A lot can be done by detuning but efficiency drops.

If you are using race fuel or E85, you can get high efficiency with high CR.

With a quality tune... no, 12.8:1 compression is not too high.
