connecting rod bearing confusing
I bought a set of rod bearing for b18c at parts shop, the sales ask me is it Type-R motor or not, because the b18c1 rod bearing is wider than the B18c5.
In my case. I bought a set b18c1 rod bearing but really not suitable for the rod. than i tell to the sales and he said i should use the type-r bearing.
But i am actually know the crankshaft is not the R version and P72 Stamped on the connecting,i know there are upper and lower bearing id code stamped on rod for the typr-r , and mine just one id code on the rod.
i am confusing that why i issued this problem? do i need to match different size for the upper and lower bearing?

Re: connecting rod bearing confusing
GSR (B18C1) and ITR (B18C5) or their JDM equivalent all use the SAME rod bearings. The sales person is mistaken... the B16A and LS/CRV rod bearings are wider. What brand of bearings are you buying ???

Re: connecting rod bearing confusing
It depends on the markings found on the block, crank and rods. Three brown and a green pair may work.
