crank balancing?!?
hello i recently bought a jdm k24a2 with the intention of doing a boost build and wanted it to be reliable so i built it with h-beam rods a wisco piston, head studs etc., and up intel now didn't even know it was so important to balance your crankshaft if you upgrade to aftermarket parts... wish i knew that before i completely putting the motor back together:/ but all of the forum that im getting this information is off of Mopar/ big v8 forum and haven't seen anything from people with i4 engines and was wondering if balancing the crank is actually such a big deal? i would dread having to take apart my motor AGAIN. thank you
Honda i4 crank it balanced internally so in do not have to be balanced with flywheel and crank pulley but it can be. Rods and Pistons do not have any impact on engine balancing (of course all rods and pistons have to be balanced separately). If you haven`t modified crankshaft and engine is already assembled then just run it.
would worry if you plan to spin it to 10k RPM.
