B18c b20 build for boost
Hi guys
New to the forum and this is my first post, so the bad rain claimed my b18, sucked in a load of water and bent 2 rods. I have a b20 block here with a lightened and balanced crank, eagle rods, acl mains all that good stuff now my question is can I drop the whole rotating assembly from the b20 in my b18 block? One of the water jackets is cracked on the b20 block hence me not using that. I also have a race tech td05 turbo kit on the way so wanna get it all done soon as possible, thanks for any help!

yes its all the same parts if by b18 u mean b18b. yes it will fit into a b18c since u post says that but u must delete the oil squirters and when u order pistons get them for a ls as the big end of the rod is narrower on a b18c.

Re: B18c b20 build for boost
Thanks for the response, it's a b18c4 block. A few people have said about the oil squirters, as I'm not changing the stroke I thought I won't have to remove them? So I'll have to get Pistons for a b18A or a b18B?
Thanks for the help mate.

You will also, obviously, need to have your B18a/b block bored to 84mm (or whatever bore size the pistons are) to accept the B20 pistons. This will be taking a good bit out of your cyl wall thickness, and especially if you are planning to boost I highly recommend sleeving your block before starting the build. The last thing you want is to spend a ton of time and money having your B18 machined, assembled, installed in car, tuned, and then crack a sleeve and have to start all over!

You are changing the stroke; B20 & B18a/b is 89mm stroke, B18Cx is 87.2

Re: B18c b20 build for boost
so if I want to use my b18c block it'll have to be sleeved to accommodate the larger piston as the top of the rods is different so I can't use the b18 pistons? And as im going to be boosting it another b20 block would be no good either as they need sleeves for moderate boost, is that right? Am I best just rebuilding the b18?

u need tyo stop saying b18 and say b18c. if u want to use the b20 crank and rods thats fine delete the squirters and get new pistons for a ls and ull be fine.
