Is it just me or does metric plastigauge look a lot bigger than american standard?
I'd say it looks to be just a hair less than 1.5 so I'd say it's right about 1.4mm .
Curious how big (diameter) your plastigauge is before you squish it? How much bigger than fishing line is it?

I would also suggest green as it is supposed to be more accurate under .003 clearance BUT I would also recommend using outside micrometers and a dial bore gauge if you plan on building your own engines.
The inherent subjectivity of Plastigage is no replacement for the +/-.0001 of micrometers and a bore gauge or inside micrometer. If you margin of error on plastigage is +/-.0005 up to .001 then it's potentially 30-50% error on your exact clearance.

assuming that's measuring in thousandths, I would say 0.0013-0.0014" is a little tight on the rods.
