Clutch...transmission...prop shaft...rear end...axles...tyres...

Those definitely get abused.

I bought two AE86's to learn how to drift. They are real easy cars to "feel" when driving. But depending on how you initiate the drift thats what takes the abuse. Now i feel like a moron becuase of my screename and this post. I'm not saying i'm a master but when i'm feeling crazy to drift i just beat the **** out of the AE86.

On a stock AP2, I've gotten it sideways downhill on a braking drift. A little countersteer and it came back naturally. This was Ortega (CA74) on a 45mph yellow sign corner at about 75-80.

yea it is. not only does vsa and the gears deny it from drifting, so does the balance of the car. its meant to be a road, canyon, windy road carver. if you want to get it sideways, you would need to somehow make the s2000 loose its balance and KEEP it sideways, not to mention convert the steering to, dont quote me on this, but to i think to a cable instead? anyways, ive seen articles in magazines where they use the FD's steering in a s2000 drift car.

balance????

last time i checked it has teh right balance 51/49 correct? like the AE86 which has a 50/50
that balance is what makes it easier to drift......

I don't know if you guys have seen this, but he connects a lot of the corners on the track. Not sure what kind of mods it has if any, though.

The suspesion is really stiff, but i donno what else. Thats an awesome example of drifting in an s2000 - which is very difficult. Snap oversteer among other things make it a very tricky car to slide.

I guess that makes me rediculous.

There's actually 5 such corners, but I know which one you're talking about on Elsinore side. There's 2 going that way, and 3 going the opposite way in the tight section.

The RS*R drift S2000 is using the steering rack from an RX7.

Slower ratio and more extension...

I prefer the solid feel of the EPS though, one yank of the fuse and its manual steering.
