Best drift car??
is there like a competition on how badly you can loose control of your car around a corner???
this is the most rice vote I have seen here in my year at HT.com..
you win the domestic dumbass award... picture coming soon

Primer Gray 1976 Chevrolet Camaro with a 305 and some WIDE *** tires in the back.
Oh yeah, and it has to be on a frozen lake in Wisconsin. That is how you drift!
Sorry, memories from my teenage years. ahhhhh.

drifting is actually a technique used by some drivers because it helps set the car for the next corner. I believe it only really is feasible to use with all wheel drive cars. Technique also used in rally car events. but other than that it is pretty stupid and means you are not in control.
noobs... keep your opinion to yourself and proceed to put stickers on your car... for you know nothing about the sport of drifting with such an arrogant and retarded comment.

Well to drift it basically means to exceed the lateral Gs that your tires can withstand so you slide IE your going into the turn really really fast and lose grip. It's a technique that's never used on the track because it's just useless (the corners are made for grip racing) and you basically kill your tires and that would be bad on an endurance run.

Drifting or oversteer as it is really called, can be used as a racing technique but really isn't worth the risk involved in loosing controll of your car. Do you see IRL f1 or even Le mans series cars drift a lot?? hell no, why? becuase it is ******* stupid to break loose your tires around a corner when there is the good chance they wont hook up when you want to and slam you into the wall'o'tires.
So again, Drifting is a rice thing just like and I quote "keep your opinion to yourself and proceed to put stickers on your car" ricers do that in there is300s with clear tail lights.. or even better, morons like you in a a civic SI (which is hella fast yo when it hits Vtec yo) who will cut your wheel and crank your Ebrake so you can drift like a RWD car.
So you, using an E break to kill "drift" not only wear the tires, the suspension, the drive train and the possibility of smacking the car into something on the side of the road, you also like to wear out your ebrake, just so you can look cool, like in GT3 or Ridge Racer...

). It's not a tail-out, opposite lock drift, but it's still a drift.
the sport of drifting? hahah, for someone who has a car that can't really dift unless it is front first into a side wall (read, oversteer) you have a lot to talk about...

drifting is not the same as oversteer. In oversteer, the front wheels still have traction. Drifting occurs when all four wheels are sliding. Usually the front wheels slide a little bit less than the rear, which is how the car is able to turn the corner.
my vote goes for the jun supra. If anyone has seen that video, you know what im talkin' about
that last drift is INSANE, he held it down like half the straight
Try here
Jun Supra
NSX driver w/ mad skillz
And here's what happens when you drift too wide, ouch!

got me on a technicality... I meant under steer, over *** out, under head first...
regardless... this is still a silly post... most racers would rather keep all four wheels gripping the road instead of breaking loose..

Luke I have that issue of Evo that was pretty sweet he broke the world record for the longest drift..which is not easy to do. Also drifting is part of racing because if your in race which is short sprint races like in the BTCC you seem them drift corner all the time because they want to get through there as fast as possible and with only 20 laps your not worried about too much tyre wear. Also it saves there brakes for lather premier race after the sprint races. Also it's used alot in rally and rally cross. So for someone to call it rice is not right as it was first used because by scandiavians in rallys back in the days reason for some have called it the scandi drift or penduluem swing. Also proper drift techique means your in total control if not you can not apex drift and past apex drifts just like in rally races. To be top WRC driver you have to be at the top of your game because if your not in control you would just take yourself out of the race and maybe kill yourself as there is places where if you where to go off a mtn you wouldn't be coming back again. They also have drift contest in Europe and Japan heck some of the German ones last yr were showed on SV and your graded on how good your slide is and how controlled it is. Some made alot smoke and that doesn't win any contest it takes skill and control of the car all the way to the apex of the turn and and straighten it out without having to saw at the wheel to get the car straight again. To me this is not much different from any other contest out there just like drag racing..some would say why hell? thats just rice watch imports drag...I don't like it when people judge something before they know the whole story behind it all.
well of course rally people do it, they have NO CHOICE in the matter.. they race in mud for christ sake, and yes some times drivers have little choice to do it in a race...
My point was, they dont race for the purpose of drifting.... They drift because the car leaves them no choice in the corner...
So to talk about drifting alone still seems silly... I am sure the mechanics of the race cars aren't too keen on it either, puts a lot of stress on the suspension, sometimes the chasis..
so again, why talk about the best car to drift in? if that is the case you want an *** heavy 355 that will kick out its rear anytime you hit the gas in a corner... but why? Why loose control?
Drift is an unfortuante side effect of the car not being able to handle the turn at the speed which you try to make it. The ending result is a combination of the cars performance (or lack of) and the drivers skill

Ok in rally cross half of the road is tarmac and the other half gravel or dirt. They use drifts on both tarmac and the soft and loose stuff.
"Drift is an unfortuante side effect of the car not being able to handle the turn at the speed which you try to make it. The ending result is a combination of the cars performance (or lack of) and the drivers skill"
Also in rallies which in the San Renmo all tarmac stages they drift quite abit there even in the british round the same thing. Also don't tell me there is no skill in drifting because if there is not anyone could do it..which I've seen some try and come up short or spining the car all the way around..and then you see someone that been doing it for some time take underpowered car and do it with ease.
Also what your describing is a skid not a controlled drift. I've seen people do what your describing and that usually ends them up in the wall. In drifting the rear and front is sliding with just some grip up front.also you can control this with steering inputs, suspension setting, bracing in the car to make it control and react differently, brake bias front or back and yes you can tap you brakes in mid drift to correct it some, also throttle control which can pull the rear out or the front to grip more and of course the e brake. Also companies build suspension coilovers just for drifting, bracing, tyre compounds, E brakes that don't lock like most OEM ebrakes there called quick release E brakes, and also theres companies that build gear ratios and such just for drifting...xtrac that builds F1 and CART gear boxes.

I am purchasing an s13 for a weekend project kthx... who said anything about drifting an ff, thats pretty damn stupid in its own. Its doable but it looks like a dog dragging its ***** after dipping them in a pit of magma.
Drifting or oversteer as it is really called, can be used as a racing technique but really isn't worth the risk involved in loosing controll of your car.
Oversteer is the back of the car overpowering the front wheel response of the car.
Drifting is when all 4 tires are exceeding the limit of traction by power produced to the floor, in a controlled direction, and is the fasted way around a corner if performed correctly.
Drifting is used in f1 racing thank you, but not slide style type drifting and no its not being confused with drafting either so dont get it twisted.
Do you see IRL f1 or even Le mans series cars drift a lot??
I dont watch that ****.
hell no, why? becuase it is ******* stupid to break loose your tires around a corner when there is the good chance they wont hook up when you want to and slam you into the wall'o'tires.
Did skip baber teach you such logic... I bet not, more like rick king... your on your way to being a likable superstar dipshit here.

I guess this was supposed to be funny and an insult at the same time, but be it is in broken english, is not properly spaced, or punctuated... It made no ****** sense... please come again noob!!!
So you, using an E break to kill "drift" not only wear the tires, the suspension, the drive train and the possibility of smacking the car into something on the side of the road
first off there are cetain tracks set up for drifting and togue mountain courses slap ***... Nobody goes and trys to slide their car sideways in a public street unless they are a complete dumbass. And on top of that using an ff car to do such.
you also like to wear out your ebrake, just so you can look cool, like in GT3 or Ridge Racer...
Rule number one in a riceboy flame, never use gt3 to back your arguments as it only makes you the arguee stupider.
well of course rally people do it, they have NO CHOICE in the matter.. they race in mud for christ sake, and yes some times drivers have little choice to do it in a race...
No dont try to compensate for why people actually use drifting to thier advantage you already have proved to me and anyone else here that you are a clueless dumbshit trying to look cool following a bandwagon nobody is even on. In bashing drifting.
HAHA!!! drifting is rice, hell thats gonna be in the guiness book of world records for the most ****** stupidest assclown statement ever made.
My point was, they dont race for the purpose of drifting.... They drift because the car leaves them no choice in the corner...
Wrong, those drivers actually know how to drive, drifting if you know your track will blindly set your car up for another turn and shave at least a good second off of your time if performed and plotted correctly and that is how Tommi Makinen Whoops *** rally driving. As does any other rally driver for that matter, but the sport of drifting is completely different from the actuall use of it in any sanctioned racing event.
the JGTC championships sometime have users use drifting, and in a race like that its pretty much pointless because acceleration and handles will win you the goal, but in drifting lots of people spend countless amounts of money and hours preparing a vehicle or even a **** bucket to go out and have fun in it.
Tires arent expensive if you buy **** ones to ride on and are a lot easier to break traction in the car anyways, only a person who is a skilled driver and master of thier vehicle and properly and safely perform a "CONTROLLED DRIFT" which you know nothing about because you blatantly posted in this thread with sheer ******* ignorance you stupid.
Thus showing your capacity for intellegence and enlightening has surely been thown out of the door since birth.
So to talk about drifting alone still seems silly...
You reap what you sew... and you just ate a big glass of shut the **** up right about now... IT SEEMS LIKE DRIFTING ALONE WOULD BE SILLY...
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
I will let you read up more on the subject before you go shooting your mouth off like the dumbshit you are when you bother to come back for another verbal bitchslapping.
I am sure the mechanics of the race cars aren't too keen on it either, puts a lot of stress on the suspension, sometimes the chasis..
LO MOTHERFUCKIN L!!! Each sentance and paragraph out of you gets better and better as I read along.
so again, why talk about the best car to drift in? if that is the case you want an *** heavy 355 that will kick out its rear anytime you hit the gas in a corner... but why? Why loose control?
you obviously have no idea what drifting is, you must assume that people just randomly cause thier cars to oversteer and hope to god that it comes out of a corner strait... and think thats cool... BWAHAHAH!!!
its not.
Drift is an unfortuante side effect of the car not being able to handle the turn at the speed which you try to make it.
um no... thats called loss of traction.
now proceed to sip on this

and come again... kthx
dinners served.
