Icon2 what should I expect from a K24 Turbo?

Hello everybody
A little background about me
This is my first post here and I have been reading these forums from 2006.

I live in Iran right now, but I have lived in The US. from 2004-2010.

I have owned couple of evos (xiii & ix) with vishnu racing performance packages and have been a big fan of engine swapping in little and light cars since I was 16( Mazda BPT in Kia Prida)

As for my car right now, I bought this car:

http://htarchive.net/showthread.php?t=2955098

and had Erick's racing do the following to it:

-Pistons, Stk bore 8.7:1 compression
-H beam rods, Acura K24
-ACURA RSX-S BEARING F, CONNECTING ROD (DAID0) (PINK)
-HEADGASKET, HONDA K24, 87MM BORE, .030", MLS
-ATB Differential QDF9U, RSX 5 SPEED
-HONDA S2000 / F20 and HONDA RSX-S / K20A2 Dual Valve Spring 80@ 40.4mm
SPR-H1022D+RET-K20A2/T2+SEAT-H1022D
-Peak & Hold Injector PL4-1200H (Honda style)
-HONDA Civic EK with EKK1 mounts (non-ABS hub) K-Series 600HP Level 3.9 Axle/Hub Kit
-TURBO-CUSTOM-GT37 WITH BILLET WHEEL
-036-HDCB6 FX400 ( STAGE IV ) Clutch
-Q BLOW OFF VALVE,
-Adapter, for installing V-banded V38mm (MVS) Wastegate into location flanged for 2 bolt, F38mm
waste
-MVR EXTERNAL WASTEGATE, V-BANDED 44MM

-ERICKS RACING K SERIES BLOCK SLEEVES SERVICE, USING LA SLEEVES, BORE
DECKED AND HONED
ACURA TSX MAIN BEARING LOWER RED

The result is this:
334lbft/456hp
I have the graph of the dyno but could not post it (noob)

I wanted to know if this setup is capable of 9s?

Ps: on 24.5 MT with 15 by 10 weld wheels

The thing is here BMWs and EVO's(III)dominate the drag strip with the best time in mid to high tens (10.68best).

My purpose for this car was to show them the perfection of Honda engines and capability by running a high 9 (9.90maybe).

I would appreciate any input to help me reach that goal.

I forgot to mention my love for Honda.

my first car ever when set I foot to The US. was a 2001 Accord v6 ex coupe which was lightly moded and the only reason that I didn't do this set up over there, was I lived in CA with strict emissions and school.

I know most of the top guys in this forum are competitive and don't let anybody know their secrets , but every little help would be appreciated.
I really need to shut up so many nay sayers here.

The car will be shipped buy next week

My car is a horrible example lol it traps way to high for its et it needs some work. but your gonna need to trap roughly 145mph which on our dyno is roughly 650hp give or take. I have gone 10.00@142 if that helps.

Thanks for the help PFI_NAYR_ONE
my car should be dyno'd today again on race gas.
hoping to hit high 500s on wheel but their dyno is Dynapack
I was told bcuz the engine has been recently put together it needs some time to loosen up and might make more power.
I don't know if thats true but If I can't hit high 9s I might compromise the daily drive ability and go with a gt42,
would that help?

PFI_NAYR_ONE: btw r u running a K Frankenstein?

Every other country I've been in, the track preperation was not like in the states. Front wheel drive cars always have a hard time going down the track. Terrible ETs with high mph. Don't be surprised if u build a high hp Honda and still not doing better than the bmw's and evo's.

OP do some research on here and see what others are using to get into the 9's with a K.

It's not that easy and takes money. How heavy is your car ?

I have done some research and thats why I have gone with a K. but the thing is I tried to set it up for DD and drag but now it seems like 9s car and DD does not really go together.

I don't know about the car's weight since I don't have the car yet but it has got full interior and nitros tank and water /alcohol in the back.

I called Erick's today but could not reach him they told me its done, I'll find out about the race gas numbers tomorrow.

I am thinking about going bigger on turbo GT4094r or GT4294r maybe even GTX4294r while the car is in the shop.

OK
so my turbo was a Gt35 so I asked him to go with a Gt40
and hopefully get around 700whp.
now the gearbox is gonna be a problem.
any suggestion on that?

If you're gunning for low ET's, you get one or the other, a DD'able car or a Strip Only car. At some point you're going to have to come to terms with it being a dedicated track vehicle

Then, you've got to take into consideration suspension setup, tire size, and whether or not you can drive the car to its full potential, plus a million other factors.

After that, if you're on a stock trans, your best bet is to just pray it holds together.

That being said - plan on spending A LOT of money and making it a dedicated track vehicle. Seat time is going to be a huge factor as well... You can't put just anyone in a car that should theoretically run low 10's/high 9's and expect them to even have the skill required to drive it.

after that now I am having this dilemma
-to upgrade the rods to crower
-get a mixed PPG&PAR(6speed, 4 PPG, 56 PAR????!!! straight cut gearbox
-Tilton clutch and go for maybe 750hp on race gas or just call it quits and DD the car.
but as far as I know 450whp FWDs cant really be a DD. but I enjoy roll on starts on freeways more than drag.
so I don't know right now I should know which route I am going by the end of this weekend(money has become an issue. dollar to rial exchange rate has jumped 20% in the last two days)

as far as a driver for the car I am not bad but I think I can manage a 9.9 out of low 9 sec car.
If the Tein flux isn't too soft

my brother owns a BMW e30 with s54 engine fully built supercharged around 600hpand does 11.2

I know FWD is a total different story but I have had some experience with his car and he has taught me some tricks

i doubt a ppg gearbox ever sees the common asphalt more than likely just the 1320
