They are great. I have one for free from uberdata. You can get consitent launches, build boost (if you have turbo). The consistent launches are good for testing stuff at the track as well as getting good lauches every time.

I do not use one of these 2 step thingies, its just a lie, the box that says 2step is actually a cruise missle weapons controller module... Good Day..

I think Brent is just pulling your leg!

definitely a good thing to have. I never had one on my GTi but I was pretty good at keeping the rpm's consistent on the line. At least that is what I always thought. The 2step garauntees that for you and takes away any doubts as to what you may have launched at. This will also let you choose the best launch RPM and basically set it and forget it so you are consistent each and every time. Hold the switch mash the pedal and stage.

They're definately nice especially when you need to stage fast and want to be consistent. Try lining up on a pro light, setting your rpm, and launching without one. I'm sure it would be a lot more work, hehe

sorta newbie question.... When the 2 step is activated. Does it make a difference (performance wise) if the throttle is WOT or just enough to bounce of the 2 step rev limiter?

It's really only used for holding your revs at a specific rpm while you launch. Then you just go to the floor and release the 2-step switch (whatever it may be) when you launch. There's not really any performance gains from it other than on an FI car it'll help you build boost at the line.

no problem.
sir831: it shouldn't make that big of a diference unless you have a turbo like kataku2k3 said. v-6 hatch, note that with a chipped ECU, and uberdata which is free, you can have an adjustable 2 step.
